2016 was a good year for me; I decided to do the full season on my cruiser in the 13-14 expert class. Also I decided to take myself out of the team ‘BMXHype’, after all the support they have given me I wanted to try the season on my own and I felt more relaxed than I have ever felt, I think it was a good decision for me to make.
I felt like there was less pressure if I did do the year on my cruiser. And it worked out really well, I had a chilled season were I just purely enjoyed myself and rode with my friends.
It started at Manchester for the 1st round of the national series. This was my first big race on the cruiser so it was sort of a test to see if I was any good on it. I started strong in my motos and just enjoyed the 3 laps as they weren’t too challenging. I felt really fast on my cruiser and I felt like it was the happiest I have ever been whilst riding my bike.
The year went on of me getting 2nd and 3rd throughout the national rounds and I ended with national no. 2.
This year I have decided to get back on the 20” after having a settled year it was time for me to focus and get back to action. I got 2 world finals from being on my 20” and I want to get that feeling back.
Once again I am going throughout the year on my own and without a team. I have wrapped my bike with a Union Jack theme and got a kit to match it.
I have raced in the racing under the roof series this year again and I feel good on my bike; I can take a lot from every round and work on it to make it better for the next one. We are up to round 4 and have the last round, round 5, in March to wrap up the series. At the minute (after round 4) I am sitting in 2nd in the standings behind Sweden's Einar Lindberg, it should be very tight for the title this year between me and Einar.
I cannot wait for the new season to start, I feel fresh on my new bike and I am confident I will get a good ranking at the end of the year.
